Oktoberfest & Year 2 easy

This weekend we hosted our annual family Oktoberfest party and in the process of preparing for it, realized just how much easier everything is year 2....

First, we know more people.  A German friend told us where to get the best brats - another bought us some festive decor (traditional cookie) from a connection in Munich....

And an Austrian friend loaned us something to get everyone in costume....

We learned of a local baker who could make the Bavarian pretzels......

And discovered - for a small fee - we could rent the school bus to take people home...
(taxis are not so reliable - especially on Saturday nights)

And now even know how to recycle after....
(Unfortunately German beer bottles are also considered 'non-standard' & fetch very little refund - disappointing the kids who saw the car full of empties as a sure path to riches)

However, we also learned that more time here means a bigger turn out, which can lead to things like toy room mass destruction.....

That said, it also makes it easier to recruit a larger repair team....
(Xavier & 3 friends to aid the Lego rebuilding process)

Net, net, we had another fun Oktoberfest - AND appreciated the relative ease of year 2 along the way.

Here's hoping you enjoy some easy today.  Prost!
