So many shades of random

Being newbies in town & trying to get established is never easy.  But San Francisco's many shades of random keep the process entertaining

Self expression abound
I love the wear what moves you approach...

(I'd estimate this lady is ~75)

Cheeks out = teen boy 'uniform'

Ink & color bonanza

Even with the mom set

Surprising Swings
While there are parks everywhere, random swings are just more fun.
One in the middle of a busy sidewalk

Another hanging over a cliff
(Billy Goat Hill's scary swing often gets cut down - then promptly put up again)

Surprising Services
The cute little botique that used to be under our flat went under before we arrived.   We were excited when construction on something new began - with visions of an ice cream or toy store….

Butt (ha-ha) were surprised to learn it was a colonics spa

How to explain that to the kids?   "Butt washing" was all we could think of.
Xavier now demonstrates...

Extraordinary Events
This past weekend we hit 2 events that showcase random - each in their own way

The Makers Fair - an exposition celebrating the crafty, sciency & cool technologies
Like a cupcake bicycle...

Self made bubble wands

And a massive Coke & Mentos fountain show…

The Bay to Breakers - a 7 mile race across San Francisco that seriously showcases the city's funky

Loads of costumed runners - like Santa...

Ladybugs…

A dinoasaur, a spaceman & some fraulines….

A man-kini horse….

Bananas….

A bathing beauty...

And plenty of people who simplified - donning nothing at all….

So while it is lonely being new to town, San Francisco ensures its a wild ride

And I think we will fit in with that just fine!
