A Pound of Prevention & A Ton of Cure

Isn't the old adage "an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure"?!.  Here they take a slightly different bend:

A Pound of Prevention: They take the cold seriously around here.  As early as mid-October I started seeing kids decked out in full on Michelin man snowsuits.

And given their propensity for 'group parenting' & a generally 'more assertive' culture, the locals do not hesitate to tell you when your kids are not dressed warmly enough.  When getting their hair cut, the boys' stylist was reluctant to cut it short (as I requested) because of the cold...

His before shot = pretty long...
....and the after shot (not all that much shorter)....
(note couple smooching in the background - public PDA a big theme, but another topic - stay tuned for more!)

To top it off, Logan came home the other day with an arsenal of company supplied vitamins!  Apparently every associate is issued said immunity propping pills each the fall.....
We have no idea what are in them - but they taste like berry & are shaped like bears - our kids are sold!

A Ton of Cure: So last week Xavier complained his ear hurt.  After my first-hand experience with an ear infection ~5 years ago while pregnant with Zoe (more painful than delivery I swear!), I jump at any sign of an ear infection.....we headed to the clinic

They confirmed he had an infection in one ear - and proceeded to prescribe some medicine....
...yes SEVEN bottles for one ear infection!   To clear the nose, to clear the chest, to relieve pain, to........CRAZY!

And some funky remedies too: When I coughed a bit the other day, our cleaner suggested the remedy of warm vodka with pepper in it....(I opted to continue popping DayQuils from home)

When Logan kept coughing, she brought over some remedies...
...no idea what these are - but apparently will be brewed into some sort of cure for Logan later today!

So here's to staying well this weekend!
