Mountain highs & travel lows

After explaining we planned to go from Florida for Xmas to Tahoe for New Years, a friend asked "Are you high?!".  As we packed up our 8 suit cases & 5 carry ons, I started to wonder.

As Xavier began throwing up on the first of the 3 flights cross country, I really started to wonder.
(Karma works - Beware of refusing to swap seats so a mom can sit next to her kids. I suspect this man regretted his stubbornness)

That said, we had a fantastic time in the mountains - the trip was well worth it....

Fresh snow & blue skies

Fab skiing & sledding

Fun with family & friends

US supplies
Despite being 45 minutes from a major town, we found a way to load up on more goods for my "happy place"

That + ski gear + Xmas gifts  = yet another luggage set from Costco
(OMG if you have not tried these 4 wheel suitcases, you must!  50lbs a breeze for even a 5 year old to push)

I couldn't believe Logan managed to puzzle all the bags in....

Still, Our 45 minute drive to the airport felt like ~5 hours....

....to all except the quite pleased with himself bigger brother

Some ~24 hours later, we made it home safely and only a bit road worn.

10 of the 11 checked bags made it....

Only a few of the US goods exploded in transit
(green frosting was luckily contained by a Safeway bag)

(Barbie lipgloss apparently do not like mountain altitude)

All things considering, a relatively smooth return from a super fun trip.  That said, my New Years resolution is to pack lighter in 2013.

Happy New Year!
